Come with us to Sand in My Boots in Orange Beach – where we stayed, what we packed and everything we loved at the festival.
Sand in My Boots was hot, busy, and absolutely unforgettable! The festival was packed with energy and so much to see and do—it felt like the perfect kickoff to summer. We gifted Emery tickets for Christmas, choosing experiences over things, and this one couldn’t have been more perfect. At 14, she asked for Morgan Wallen concert tickets, and we turned it into a full-on mother-daughter weekend. Singing along all day and night, dancing in the crowd, and soaking it all in together made the best memories. Definitely one of those moments we’ll both remember forever. Worth every sweaty second!
What We Packed + What Everyone Wore
We packed light and beachy for the Sand in My Boots Festival—think coastal cowgirl meets concert chic. Even though it was a country music fest, there were way more flip flops and bare feet than cowboy boots since it was literally on the sand. We saw tons of little bikinis, cute one-pieces, crochet and knit sets, long sheer coverups, ruffle shorts, and pirate-boho vibes. Cowboy hats were everywhere, but paired with beachy basics. It was such a fun mix of country and coastal—like Nashville meets the Gulf! Effortless, trendy, and ready to dance in the sand.
Where We Stayed for Sand in My Boots
We stayed at Sun Outdoors Orange Beach for the festival weekend and absolutely loved it! The campground is clean, new, and so nice—with Hunter’s parents’ RV as our cozy home base. We spent downtime at the resort-style pool (and yes, I had my signature Caesar salad poolside). It was super convenient—less than 10 minutes to the festival, 2 minutes to The Wharf, and just 10 minutes to the Foley outlets where I squeezed in a quick shopping trip to Polo, J.Crew, and TJ Maxx. It was the perfect mix of music, rest, and retail therapy!
Orange Beach + Gulf Shores Food Faves
If you’re heading to Orange Beach or Gulf Shores, there are so many fun places to eat! We loved The Gulf—right on the water with the cutest vibe and great fish tacos. Doc’s is a must for fried shrimp (total dive in the best way). Tin Top is a little off the beaten path but so worth it for oysters and Southern seafood. We had to stop at Lambert’s for the whole “throwed rolls” experience—super fun and filling. And Wintzell’s has that classic beachy oyster bar feel. Great mix of casual, local favorites that totally hit the spot after a beach day.
