It’s Memorial Day Weekend, which means for mamas like me, it’s the official turning point from the everyday school routine to laid-back summer days filled with sunshine (and a few inevitable afternoon showers), easy activities and relaxed days. I love to freshen up my wardrobe this time of year with affordable pieces I can mix and match with items I already own so that they reach their maximum potential. And isn’t that what a “basic” is all about? Having the ability to be worn and reworn in different capacities to stretch its life in the closet? Y’all know I love a pretty color and as I went on the hunt for budget-friendly basics, I wasn’t just searching for something plain. For me, this pieces are pretty on their own, but when mixed with staples like white jeans or denim shorts, they can be part of an all-star outfit. I love that I can wear these to the beach for sunset, with the kids on an ice cream date or even out to a casual dinner. Most of these come in a range of colors, so even though I’ve chosen the feminine colors I wear most, you can also find your go-to shade.
