For the coasters: weekend recap

Cue the 30A Mama weekend recap. Spoiler alert: it contains needlepoint, a hint of back to school shopping and a DELICIOUS dinner indulging in pasta with my favorite people.

Family Date Night at Mimmo’s

It’s rare these days that all of our schedules align for a dinner out, but this weekend we made it happen with a family date night at Mimmo’s. Between late charters for Hunter, Emery’s new work schedule at SEASIDE® Kids + Baby, visits to the grandparents house for Collins and all the moving parts of summer, it feels like we’ve been swirling in different directions. A bowl of pasta for everyone was the perfect way to spend a dinner together and I have to say, the lobster ravioli is a winner.

Where: Mimmo’s, Blue Mountain Beach
What to Order: Lobster Ravioli, Espresso Martini

Back to School Part 1

Before you scroll right past this section because you don’t want to think about school just yet, for us the first day is only a month away. It’s wild! I’m not always great about getting a head start on supplies and shopping for the fun things, but this year, we spotted this backpack and lunch box combo that immediately felt like it had Collins’ name written all over it. How cute are these from State? I started buying this brand for Emery when she was in Pre-K and it’s such a good purchase. Plus there are more size options now depending on what age or carrying needs you have, all the way up to a double zip XL.

Packing for Camp

Collins is SO EXCITED to go to her first sleep away camp this summer and we have been counting down the days for literally 100+ days. We’re not in the final stretch and gathering all of the items on the checklist. I made this list on Amazon with a ton of basics and packable finds for camp if you need inspo.

Weekend Needlepoint

Last but not least, I finally got a chance to get started on the Ralph’s Coffee needlepoint I got in NYC on this work trip. It’s been sitting and waiting for me to have a free moment and I’ve finally started my first few lines. Not sure yet how I plan to finish this piece yet, but I may end up framing it more as art than as an object. To be determined!

Sharing a few other needlepoint pieces I browsed in person and a few I’d love to work on next.

As always, thanks for reading the 30A Mama weekend recap and following along. Have a great week!
