I love the events of Miami Swim Week! It might feel like 100 degrees in South Beach, but each year gets better and better. From Glamour‘s chic bungalow at The Edition to Bollare’s fabulous penthouse at 1 Hotel, hopping from place to place really gave me a full taste of Miami’s hottest locations. On this particular afternoon, we had two fun events to attend: the launch of Stella McCartney’s swim and eye wear collection at The Webster and a Lazy Sunday BBQ with Mara Hoffman. We stayed at The Dream South Beach the night before and were able to walk right across the street – no Uber required! – to check out the Stella party. The Webster is an institution in its own right, once a hotel and now home of high-end brands including The Row, Proenza Schouler, Valentino, Victoria Beckham and more. On the roof, we sipped Watermelon Mint Margaritas with Casamigos, devoured ice cold fruit popsicles and tried on sunnies from the new line.
From there, we headed to The Standard, where the happy yellow and green color palette was the perfect backdrop for a laid-back party with a backyard vibe. I had a hard time turning down a Tequila Snowball, but I opted for a Frosé (or two!), the most refreshing hot weather beverage and my new favorite drink. As busy as Miami Swim Week is, it’s pretty relaxed overall and I love being able to get up close and personal with models, designers and my favorite brands. Mara Hoffman, as expected, was the most chill and chic person at the party, dressed in cool flared pants worn over a printed swimsuit. She looked so fabulous, I couldn’t resist asking her how she beats the Miami heat. Be sure to scroll all the way down to see what she says in typical Mara fashion.
As for what I wore, nothing says summer barbecue more than a breezy white dress. Clearly, I can’t get over the off-the-shoulder trend of the moment and when I discovered this dress, I had to have it. They had me at the name, which I can’t make up. It’s called the Most Beautiful Midi Dress and I have to agree. I got compliments on this dress at both events probably could’ve worn it every day. It’s currently on sale in a few places so be sure to grab it while it lasts.
