The fourth of July celebrations have more or less come to a close with most of the visitors packing up and hitting the roads, leaving us locals to enjoy another gorgeous day at the beach. La Botana was the place for fun Friday night as a bunch of us got together to celebrate my friend Jessica’s birthday. We had lots of delicious wine and champagne with some amazing music in the background. Swede was an absolutely fabulous host!
We even ran into interior designer Laurie of Trading Spaces fame hanging out with her family. I missed a Jessica Simpson, Tony Romo & Kenny Chesney sighting at Bud & Alley’s about the same time. They were here around the same time last year.
After recovering from the bubbly, I was able to spend the better part of yesterday on a boat and in the water around Shell Island in Panama City Beach with some of my very favorite people.
The water was great, the sun was out and we had a blast floating around, jet skiing and drinking a cold beverage or two. Perfection! After the boat I made my way back to Seagrove with the dog and the boyfriend (who had been working all day) just in time to find a spot on the beach to watch the fireworks. As soon as the sun went down groups from all over set off one after another illuminating Eastern Lake and the beach nearby with exciting fireworks that put some professional shows to shame. We stayed until our little cooler was empty, with a few fireworks still exploding here and there. It was just good, old-fashioned fun – a perfect ending to a fabulous Fourth!
