Chic Halloween Makeup with Lancôme - 30A Mama™

While there are plenty of scary characters that come out of the woodwork for Halloween, I prefer to keep my dress-up look on the chic side. Taking a style note from the French, who are known for understated elegance, I was inspired to use a handful of makeup products from Lancôme to create a pretty kitty look to wear with my (daughter’s) golden kitten ears and gold sequin top. Starting with foundation and concealer on my face, I applied to the apples of my cheeks a sugary shade of pink that I’m sure even Marie Antoinette herself would approve of. For thicker brows, I used both Lancôme Les Sourcils Definis Brow Expert and Lancôme Sourcils Gel Waterproof Eyebrow Gel Cream to shape and add weight. The extreme precision of these is perfect for adding just a little definition as well. Though for this, I was heavy handed. I love a good eyeshadow palette and the new Auda{city} in Paris Palette is no exception. For my lids, I combined soft shadows in romantic shades to create a subtle pastel effect using Joie, Tenacity, Exhibition and Zip Me Up from the palette, then added a strong cat-eye – trés appropriate for a kitty costume – using the Artliner Precision Felt Tip. The Hypnôse Drama Mascara is one of my favorites for pumped-up glam lashes, with two generous coats applied here. For a French-girl bold lip, I applied Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Définition in Le Magenta right out of the tube. It goes on very creamy and stays put.
