If you’ve been using the same products for more than a few months, it’s most likely time for a makeup refresh. Not only do products expire and dry out, but sometimes it’s just good to try new things. I admit I’m a creature of habit so I added a note to self to do a seasonal makeup audit and add new items to my makeup bag.
Here are a few I’m grabbing from Sephora right now:
Eyeshadow
I’m a big eyeshadow person. Always have been and probably always will be. I think it’s mostly because I have small eyes, so I like to do my best tricks to make them look larger with the help of makeup. I feel so plain without a little eyeshadow.
I’ve been wanting to try this Tarte Tartelette Juicy Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette for awhile now and just haven’t checked out with it until now. I can’t wait to get this in and try the colors. With blue eyes, I think these rosy shades will be such a nice complement.
Concealer
If you’ve already jumped on the clean beauty train, kudos to you. I am admittedly a bit behind as I just haven’t committed to switching out everything I have. I’m slowly adding in new brands and new products that are clean and thoughtfully made. Several of my friends swear by Kosas for fresh-faced makeup, so I’m excited to try the Revealer Concealer for a light but quality concealer.
Lip Mask
This Laneige Lip Mask isn’t a new product for me, but I’ve used mine so much it’s time for a refill. It’s designed to be an overnight product so you wake up with soft, moisturized lips, but I find myself using this more as a daytime balm to keep my lips hydrated all day. Since it does double duty for me, I tend to use it up faster. Mine is the original berry version, but there are also candy, vanilla and gingersnap “flavors” to check out. If you’re a classic Chapstick girl and always need something on your lips, try switching to this. I think you’ll love it!
Highlighter
The older I get, the more I appreciate a youthful glow. Highlighter in the right places can make a world of difference in looking fresh and awake versus dull and tired. I’m getting past the more shimmery highlighter (absolutely no traces of glitter, whatsoever, please!) and have been wanting to try this liquid highlighter as it seems to give such a natural glow when applied wet. Perfect product for a makeup refresh! I’m trying the mini to make sure I like it, though it also comes in a larger size once you’re hooked.
